Nicolás de la Rosa Fox, born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on July 22nd, 1953 He is currently a University Professor of Condensed Matter Physics (Jul/2004), with a position in the Department of Condensed Matter Physics of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Cadiz.

He graduated in Physics from the University of Seville in 1982. Doctor in Physics from the University of Seville in Dec. 1985. Researcher in charge of the group PAI TEP 115 "Processing of New Materials by the Via Sol-Gel" of the Junta de Andalucía, since 1987.

Postdoctoral scholarship at the University of Montpellier in the Laboratoire de Sciencies et Materiaux Vitreux under the supervision of Prof. Jerzy Zarzycki, during the years 1987-1988. Visiting Professor at the Optical Science Centre of Tucson, University of Arizona under the tutelage of Prof. Nasser Peyghambarian, in 1996. Researcher in large installations, with synchrotron radiation at LURE (Laboratoire d'Utilisation du Radiation Electromagnetique) in Orsay, Paris. With neutrons at the Berlin Neutron Scattering Center of the Hahn-Meitner Institute in Berlin.
