Composition of Joint Unit of Research, if relevant

We began by researching "the formation of capitalism in the Marco del Jerez region", which led to others such as the production, trade and consumption of wines and spirits, winemaking heritage, daily life, education, sociability, social and political relations, ideology..., which led us to the second major line on the First Liberalism and Cortes de Cádiz. In addition to the collective and individual publications, we must highlight the agreements with research groups in Porto, Bordeaux, Madeira... and contracts with companies and institutions for the development of research of common interest.

Research on the First Liberalism, Cortes and Constitution of Cadiz; History of the wine industry between the 18th century and the 20th century; a comparative analysis of the wine makers of different regions and countries, analysing daily life, education, culture, sociability, the festival - especially the Carnival -, including some cases of marginalisation and heterodoxy. Also about consumption habits, linked to social life, types of wines and spaces, such as taverns. He has directed 26 doctoral theses and has achieved SIX six-year periods of study, five of research and one of transfer.
