The research group has among its main objectives: the analysis of historical processes in Latin America from the arrival of the Europeans to the present day, especially in migration issues, maritime history and cultural studies.
Among the main results in recent years we must highlight more than fifteen publications in high impact indexed journals such as Anuario de Estudios Americanos, The Americas, Temas Americanistas, ALHIM Les Cahiers, Naveg@merica, etc. Similarly, six monographs and various chapters have been published by renowned publishers.
The group is currently integrated in the Institute of Maritime History and Archaeology (INHARMAR).

Doctor of Latin American History, University of Seville (1991). He has published extensively on the history of America and has directed several national and international research projects in this field. Among his lines of research we highlight the Frontier in Colonial America, Marginalization and Power in 19th Century Cuba, the historical climate of Cadiz in the 19th Century and Maritime History. He has also been a guest lecturer at various Latin American universities, is a member of the Andalusian Academy of History and the Royal Hispano-American Academy of Arts and Letters in Cadiz, and has been a member of the board of ADHILAC.
