I am responsible for the Applied Robotics research group (TEP940), Doctor of Industrial Engineering (Extraordinary Doctorate Award) and University Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Cadiz since 1987.
I was Director of the Secretariat of Development and Director of the Office of Research Results Transfer (OTRI) in the Vice-rectorate of Research for 4 years and I was also Deputy Director of Research and Deputy Director of Innovation and Transfer of the School of Engineering for 12 years. I am currently in charge of the Master's Degree in Research in Systems and Computer Engineering.
My research is focused on:
- Industrial robotics, industrial robotic arms, robotic hands and programming of industrial robots in industrial environments and their applications.
- Educational robotics and development of robot hardware, software and firmware.
- Design and manufacture of bio-inspired systems applied to motors, robotic arms and anthropomorphic robotic gloves for their control and use of PFM.
- Design and manufacture of electronic circuits with PCBs and development of embedded systems that integrate hardware and software with sensors and actuators.
- Design and manufacture of anthropomorphic humanoid bio-inspired robots with servo motor control by PFM.
- Design and applications with autonomous UGVs, autonomous USVs, drones and UAVs.
I have directed more than 140 TFG, TFM, PFC and research works leading to theses and an international thesis direction. I have published in high impact JCR journals with a six-year research and a six-year transfer record and have attended numerous international conferences.
Since 2001 I have participated in 8 projects of the National Plan, 4 European projects, 2 Excellence projects of the Andalusian Government, 9 Professional contracts and one FEDER Innterconecta project and a patent on a neonatal monitoring device.
