We were a FISSs predoctoral fellow at the HU Valle de Hebrón (Barcelona). Thesis that prepared us for the MD at the Faculty of Medicine of Cádiz, and concluded with the thesis that allowed us to become an assistant professor. We are a specialist in Internal Medicine and a Master in Molecular Oncology. This allowed us to start our teaching career at the UCA, until we reached the PTU position, attached to the Department of Medicine and with a related healthcare position at the UGC of Internal Medicine of the University Hospital of Puerto Real (Cádiz), since 2000. We have made stays at the MD Hospital Anderson Cancer Center, Houston (USA), highlighting the one carried out at the University Hospital of the Free University of Amsterdam, where we joined the study of the mechanisms of multiple resistance to oncological drugs. Throughout this period we carried out a series of relevant collaborations, with the group of Prof. Pinedo and Prof. Giaccone. We are the IP of the Oncological Research Group (PAIDI-CTS-237), of the Junta de Andalucía. At this stage we began to direct TD and we were strengthening several lines of research focused on venous thromboembolic disease and cardiovascular pathophysiology. We have been a research professor at various University Hospitals, completing clinical and investigative training. As scientific achievements to cite: We have published 158 articles in scientific journals. The RG-Score is 39-528 and with 691 citations. Index H: 11. We have directed 26 doctoral theses and three undergraduate theses, as well as several TFG / M since the implementation of the Medicine Degree. We have made 35 communications to national and international conferences, the publication of various book chapters, some in the teaching field and others in the health field. We have participated in 14 publicly funded call research projects, and we are collaborating on three other active projects. We are a reviewer of scientific journals and a member of the organizing committee of various events related to the field of Internal Medicine. This research activity has led us to the granting of three six-year terms of research. Regarding teaching work, we have participated in numerous conferences and courses on teacher training and innovation. For 12 years we have been tutoring students in the ERASMUS program at the German universities of Freiburg and Kiel. We have achieved five teaching five-year periods. Regarding clinical management: We are members of several healthcare commissions. We have held various academic management positions: Director of the Degrees Doctor Program in Medical Sciences, Secretary of the Department of Medicine, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Director General of Health Sciences. At the healthcare level, we are accredited with the category of Excellent in the ACSA, within its professional skills program.
