Associate Professor of Engineering Projects at the University of Cadiz. The areas of interest related to research and transfer of results are project management and prevention of occupational risks.
Head of the research group TEP955 "Engineering and Technology for the Prevention of Occupational Risks" since its creation. I have been in several research groups. TEP027 "Materials and Manufacturing Engineering and Technology" and TEP136 "Materials Engineering". In this last group, in December 2008, I developed the doctoral thesis "Methodology for the implementation of information management models within enterprise resource planning systems. Application in Small and Medium Enterprises", which was applied to the productive sector through transfer contracts (Art. 83 LOU) in several companies.
I have managed three doctoral theses (2014, 2016 and 2017), which were evaluated with the highest score, with topics related to project management.
I have been recognized -between 2009 and 2014- one period of research by the CNEAI. I have more than one hundred publications, including papers in journals, books, book chapters and communications in national and international congresses.
In 2010, I obtained a postdoctoral scholarship through the European Union "Erasmus Mundus: Averroes Program" and I stayed at the Technical School of Engineering in Tangier, Abdelmalek Essaadi University.
In addition to my university studies, I am a Senior Technician in Occupational Risk Prevention in all three technical disciplines. In the field of Project Management, I am certified as Project Manager level C, by IPMA (International Project Management Association) with the guarantee of ENAC.

The group's activity is focused on two major areas: project management and occupational risk prevention. Regarding the first, we develop applied research in civil and industrial engineering project management. Within it, we apply modelling, simulation and optimization techniques for studying factors that condition project duration, cost and risk. We also propose suitable project monitoring and control approaches accordingly.
In the second we study occupational risk prevention. Particularly, we perform research on indoor and outdoor air quality. Currently, the group is developing low-cost audit and safety inspection systems.
