Short description of shared resource

Unique museum collection of prof. Wojciech Bęben showing the main cultural and linguistic lands of New Guinea and giving a complete picture of the material, technological and aesthetic heritage of its peoples. It consists of original traditional objects collected between 1970 and 2010. The artifacts are carefully made in terms of material, technique and design. It consists of beautiful woven mats, baskets, ceramics, masks and ceremonial costumes, musical instruments, including drums, household appliances, hunting and war weapons, fishing equipment and others.

Potential application

 The collection can be used for popularization and education, there is possibility of cooperation with the Museum of the University of Gdańsk (the same infrastructure).
