PI bio

António Fragoso is an Associate Professor and coordinator of CEAD research centre. He is co-editor of the European Journal for Research on the Education and Learning of Adults, and active in the European Society for Research on the Education of Adults (ESREA - http://esrea.org/). He has been involved in national and international research projects. His research interests and publications focus on adult education, non-traditional students in HE, community education and older citizens’ learning.

Short description of research profile

CEAD's mission is to promote and carry out research activities on Adult Education and Community Intervention, build and disseminate scientific knowledge with social utility, and support planning and decision-making processes in the field. We believe that education takes place in all spaces and throughout the life cycle. We also believe that adult education can make a significant contribution to the dynamics of social change and improve the quality of life of adults, an adult being any individual from the end of adolescence to the last stages of life.
