Ethnographic welfare studies

The research group for ethnographic welfare studies is particularly concerned with the consequences of legislative changes and reforms for both service providers and users.

In recent decades, a number of legislative changes and reforms have been implemented in Norway.

The research group for ethnographic welfare studies is particularly concerned with the consequences of such changes for both service providers and users, with a particular focus on people living in vulnerable life situations and marginalized groups. We study these from a bottom-up perspective, mainly through qualitative approaches. The research group is interdisciplinary, and includes various disciplines such as sociology, anthropology and political science.
