Founder and director of Thermo-fluid dynamics, Energy, and HVAC systems lab (LATEC) at the Università degli Studi di Napoli “Parthenope”, where he coordinated the PhD program in Energy Science and Engineering, and currently coordinates the Batchelor and Master programs in Management Engineering.
Since 2013 he is the director of CRAVEB, an Italian consortium of public Universities and private companies that develops research on energy, environment, vehicles, and biofuels.
His main research interests are related to heat transfer and computational fluid mechanics, energy conversion systems, with particular focus on geothermal and waste-to-energy systems.
He has published more than 200 papers published in scientific journals and proceedings the international and national conferences.
In 2009 he initiated series of International Conferences on Computational Methods for Thermal Problems (ThermaComp), for which he serves as Co-Chair.
Principal investigator for several research and development projects funded by the Italian Ministries for Economic Development, for University and Research, e for the Environment, Sea and Land conservation.
The members of LaTEC (Laboratory of Thermo-fluid dynamics, Energy, and HVAC systems) of the Engineering Department at the Università degli Studi di Napoli "Parthenope" have international scientific experience in the fields of computational thermo-fluid dynamics, fuel cells, geothermal energy conversion, energy planning, polygeneration systems, renewable energy sources, thermoeconomic analysis of energy systems and biomedical engineering.
