The main scope of our research is to evaluate the new emerging method of pain monitoring in ophthalmological practice. Our research is conducted in collaboration with prof.Hanne Storm from University of Oslo,Norway, School of Medicine who has developed the skin conductance pain monitoring device and prof.Goran Petrovski, from University of Oslo, Oslo University hospital- Department of Ophthalmology and Centre for eye research. Our research group is based in Split university hospital-department of ophthalmology where we are currently working on three projects where we seek to validate the skin conductance pain monitoring method which has not been used in ophthalmology to date. We hope to be able to use our results to change current practices and implement better strategies in order to improve common ophthalmological procedures.
