Composition of Joint Unit of Research, if relevant

This research group is made up of researchers from different fields of Language and Literature Didactics (PDIs from the UCA, professionals working in educational centres at different educational levels, professionals from the Andalusian Regional Government and doctoral students) and includes both experts in Mother Tongue and Foreign Language Didactics (English, French, Japanese and Italian).
Its activities are focused on the study of aspects related to the teaching and learning processes of the Mother Tongue, the foreign language, literature and LLIJ in Spanish, English, French, Japanese and Italian.
Among the most relevant research and transfer activities to be developed by the members of the Group are:
- Articles in national and international journals and participation in national and international conferences.
- Organization of Meetings, Seminars, Conferences, etc.
- Direction of doctoral theses, TFMs and TFGs related to our lines of research.
- Collaboration with the Writing Centre (CdE) of the University of Cadiz.
- Collaboration with entities for the design and advice on didactic material for all educational levels.
- Creation of a scientific blog for the promotion of reading and Children´s Literature in L1 and L2.
- Advice to educational centers on plurilingualism and teaching innovation in DLL.
- Creation of an experimental portal for the dissemination and transfer of activities in the fields of Language Teaching in Nursery, Primary, Secondary and EOI Education. To create a space in which to show to the outside world the potential and attractiveness of the disciplines related to language teaching, as well as that of our students through the research results of their TFMs and TFGs.
- Research on Gender and Equality Studies from the field of Language and Literature.
- To promote internationalization with the creation of tools and strategies that favour the acquisition of linguistic competence by students participating in mobility programmes.

Pre-doctoral training at University College London and University of Kent. (United Kingdom).
Senior Lecturer in the Department of Didactics of Language and Literature at  University of Cadiz. (Faculty of Education). Associate Lecturer at the UNED's Associate Center in Cádiz (2002-2011).
Stays at Högskolan Dalarna University (Sweden) and Hogeschool Rotterdam (The Netherlands).
Member of the research group HUM 748 of the PAI since 2002.
Six years of research awarded by CNEAI in 2017.
- Member of OTRI Project OT2012/2011.
- Member of the Project of Excellence P12- HUM-2348 of the Junta de Andalucía entitled "The effects of integrated learning of contents and foreign languages in monolingual communities: a longitudinal study".
- Member of the MusicLang Project "Musical Aptitude, Reading Fluency and Intercultural Perception of European University Students" (Reference: FFI2016-75452-R) of the Call of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness; State Program of R+D+i Oriented to the Challenges of Society since January 2017.
3 books published, 12 book chapters, more than 25 articles in prestigious journals in the field of Language and Literature Didactics as well as other publications in proceedings and scientific magazines. Collaboration with Santillana-Richmond Publishing House in the design of English textbooks for Primary Education.
Direction of the Doctoral Thesis of Ms. Paula Rivera Jurado (2017). Tutoring of more than 50 TFMs and TFGs. Currently, member of the Doctorate Program in Educational Research and Practice (8219) at the UCA. Thesis Director of Mr. Alejandro Pereira Rojas. FULL Prize of the Fundació Pell Llibre i la Lectura (2019) for TFM Direction.
Member of the Scientific Committee and Organizer of the International Congress of the National Association for Research in Children's and Young People's Literature (ANILIJ) (2005) and Secretary of the 13th International Congress of the SEDLL held in Cádiz in 2012.

Technology Expertise

The methodology employed will be eminently qualitative, giving priority to ethnographic designs, narrative designs, action-research designs, phenomenological designs and grounded theory.
Many of our investigations will also opt for mixed designs (we will triangulate quantitative and qualitative data).
Depending on each research, we will use specific methodologies from the Language and Literature Didactics Area.
Techniques: Systematic review, bibliographical analysis, observation, interviews, questionnaires, focus groups, case studies.
