She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Santiago de Compostela, with a dissertation titled *Cultural Diversity in Galician Schools: Challenges and Educational Alternatives in Communities with Immigrant Populations* (2004). Her dissertation was supervised by Dr. José Antonio Caride Gómez and Dr. Xosé Rubal Rodríguez.
