The Environmental Impacts of Maritime Shipping; The aim is to establish, by using scientific method, whether our hypotheses according to which cruise ships are greater polluter than cargo ships in the Adriatic Sea is founded. The other question that should be considered within this research is whether air pollution from ships is already declining as a result of implementation of several international and European regulations obliging to emission reduction.

A professional skipper is engaged in 16-20 weeks of uninterrupted work during the season, which requires exceptional psychological and physical effort, especially if we take into account the extremely demanding sleeping conditions in the absence of any life routine.

For the jobs of sailors in the Merchant Navy, there is also no research on physical demands, psychological stress, and the quality of sleep while performing jobs.

The recent project aims to verify the research thesis whether and why the constitution of the Kingdom of Poland of 1815 should be deemed a formative factor of Polish political liberalism at the time of its birth. I have adopted the assumption, that the earlier stages of the development of Polish thought were of “protoliberal” nature, while the concept of “liberalism” did not begin to emerge until 1815.

The Maritime Law Department conducts scientific and educational activities, as well as implements international and national projects and activities aimed also at popularizing science e.g. in cooperation with entrepreneurs from the maritime economy during the organization of scientific conferences on maritime law. Our scientific research generally focuses on determining the degree of legal compliance of domestic law with international maritime law, also in terms of enforcement of law in practice. These studies show a multifaceted and interdisciplinary character.
