Research interests: research on the banking systems in European Union member states, corporate banking in Poland, financing of environmental investments by banks and non-banking institutions, credit risk management (especially modern techniques of credit risk mitigation), transactional banking as a limited risk service, e-banking in Polish commercial banks, financing of residential housing in Poland, implementation and financing of investments under public-private partnerships and mortgage banking.
Educational background: Graduate of the Faculty of Transport Economics at the University of Gdansk. Obtained a doctorate degree, then a post-doctorate degree in economic sciences followed by an associate professor title at the University of Gdansk.

- Retreat from mandatory pension funds in countries of the Eastern and Central Europe in result of financial and fiscal crisis: Causes, effects and recommendations for fiscal rules (National Science Center)
- The implementation of modern elements of education at the University of Gdansk (European Social Fund)
- Innovative Model for Social and Economic Benefits and Costs of Infrastructure Projects
- Risk Management in Local Government Activities with particular focus on catastrophic risk

1. Cooperation with insurance companies and brokerage houses. In 2019 (July and December) performing two expertise for insurance broker joint-stock company Mentor SA in a team of academics from Faculty of Management on the assessment of the market position, the stability of investment team and efficiency of investment performance of investment institutions offering Employee Capital Plans.
2. Cooperation with investment companies, i.e. Skarbiec TFI SA in organising a conference on Employee Capital Plans - a new form of occupational pension schemes with auto-enrolment mechanism) in November 2019.
3. One of the researchers (K. Bielawska) is a leader in cooperation of the University of Gdansk with Social Insurance Institution (ZUS).
4. One of the reseachers (K. Bielawska) is Member of the European Network for Research on Supplementary Pensions (since 2016 Executive Committee Board Member), the network members represent academia and business.
