Protection of human rights in healthcare

Jozo Čizmić – Full professor with tenure of Civil Procedure Law. Head of the 'Centre for Medical Law' at the Faculty of Law, University of Split. By the decision of the University Senate of Split, nominated as the President of the University Council of Split. Vice dean at the Faculty of Law University of Split (2002-2006). Dean of Faculty of law University of Split (2012-2014).

Author of 22 books and over 300 scientific and professional papers. In the last five years reviewer of 15 books and/or journals. Advisor to Rector of University of Split for normative activity. President of University Council of University of Split from 1 October 2012 to 30 September 2014. Regular member of the Croatian Academy of Legal Sciences. By the Republic of Croatia’s decision nominated as member of working groups for the preparation of negotiations for chapter 7 of Intellectual Property Law and for negotiations for chapter 25 for Science and Research.

In 2001 and 2006, the Croatian Parliament appointed his as the judge-juror of the High Commercial Court of the Republic of Croatia. In 2002, he was appointed member of the Management Board of the Split Clinical Hospital, member of the Croatian Council of Health and Ethics and member of the Central Ethics Committee for Multicentre Clinical Trials for Medicines and Medical Products.

2016 Award for exceptional contribution to the organisation, promotion and development of medical law as a separate academic area and medical-legal profession. Croatian Medical Chamber and Croatian Chamber of Healthcare Workers.

2015 Award for many years of commitment and contribution to the development of innovation, Innovators’ Society DIATUS Split.

2019 Certificate of Appreciation on the 25th year of “Peter Simonetti” (ownership- obligations-procedure) legal conference for many years of cooperation, exceptional authorship and contribution in promoting dialogue amongst legal theoreticians and practitioners, University of Rijeka, Faculty of Law.

2000 Acknowledgement from Town of Rijeka at the 2nd innovation exhibition, 27 October 2000 for book entitled "Ogledi iz prava industrijskog vlasništva", Town of Rijeka.

2014 Certificate of Appreciation for participation and professional help in pilot project Court Administration of the Kingdom of Norway „Sudska nagodba“, High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
