The center promotes scientific, cultural and technological research in the areas of Heritage and History, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction, Territory and Land Use Planning, with a special focus on the Mediterranean/Algarve region.
It aims to be recognized by civil society and business for its superior ability to generate and share knowledge in these areas.
Carla Rolo Antunes, Degree in Biophysical Engineering (1993), Master in Hydraulics and Water Resources (1996) and PhD in Hydrology (2010), is Assistant Professor at Faculty of Sciences and Technology of Algarve University. Since 2012 is the Director of the Master in Sustainable Management of Rural Areas. She integrates the Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development (MED). Her research field is in the area of Water Resources, Land Use Planning and Nature Based Solutions. Her research work has resulted in some scientific publications (peer-reviewed SCI-indexed journals, international conference papers, proceedings of international conferences). She supervised several master's dissertations and some works concluding a bachelor's / bachelor's course.
In the CEPAC we develop research on Heritage, Landscape and Construction, namely on water resources, land use planning, urbanism, urban rehabilitation. history, environmental assessment and engineering for sustainability framed in the CEPAC's interdisciplinary.
