Short description of research profile

The Aquaculture Division addresses various biological issues, contributing to a more sustainable and diverse development of the Norwegian aquaculture industry.

Aquaculture production represents a great asset for Norwegian value creation and is an important contributor to safe and healthy food production. The research group performs fundamental- as well as applied research (together with the industry), addressing new solutions to challenges related to the following research focus areas:

  • Fish nutrition
  • New feed ingredients and production technology
  • Fish health and welfare
  • Aquaculture – Environment interaction
  • Seafood quality
