Short description of research profile

Central focus of the research of this group includes graph theory (with emphasis on extremal graph theory), complex networks (with emphasis on multiplexes, curriculum networks and network descriptors), mathematical chemistry (with emphasis on molecular descriptors, nanotechnology, peptide antibiotics), and discrete mathematics in general. Our goal is to obtain purely mathematical results and multidisciplinary applications.

Short description of research profile

research team follows the trends in new technologies for the exploitation of renewable energy sources and explores the ways of applying these technologies in area of maritime affairs. The new technologies include solar energy application, fuel cells, wind capturing, mechanical energy from the motion of tides and waves.  The team investigates the production of energy from renewable resources, its distribution, storage and transformation, as well as its use for ship's propulsion and drive of other marine systems.

Short description of research profile

A professional skipper is engaged in 16-20 weeks of uninterrupted work during the season, which requires exceptional psychological and physical effort, especially if we take into account the extremely demanding sleeping conditions in the absence of any life routine.

For the jobs of sailors in the Merchant Navy, there is also no research on physical demands, psychological stress, and the quality of sleep while performing jobs.
