The main research interests are in the field of signal and image processing, with particular reference to Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and microwave remote sensing.

Her most significant scientific contributions are the following:

-    development of radar imaging techniques based on one bit coding of the received signal, that can be implemented for real-time processing on simple low cost architectures;

-    development of statistical techniques for moving target detection using SAR systems

The research activities of the group are:

Design and optimization of large magnets for High Energy Physics and Medical Applications. Modeling, identification and design of Tokamak configuratione for Magnetic Confinement Controlled Nuclear Fusion. Non linear circuits and complex networks, synchronization and emerging dynamics. Electromagnetic compatibility, signal and power integrity for high speed circuits.

The research activities of the group include both methodological topics, such as finite-time stability and stabilization of different class of dynamic systems, and different applications, such as control of nuclear fusion devices, control of unmanned vehicle and development of methods for systems and synthetic biology.

CEOT is a research center based in the University of Algarve that was established in 2003 as a result of a collaborative effort of several young scientists in the areas of electronics, optoelectronics and telecommunications.
