Short description of research profile

The main research interests are in the field of signal and image processing, with particular reference to Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and microwave remote sensing.

Her most significant scientific contributions are the following:

-    development of radar imaging techniques based on one bit coding of the received signal, that can be implemented for real-time processing on simple low cost architectures;

-    development of statistical techniques for moving target detection using SAR systems

-    development of innovative multi-channel SAR interferometric and tomographic techniques for three-dimensional reconstruction of the observed scene, based on statistical estimation and detection theory;

-    introduction of a SAR tomographic technique based on compressive sampling, allowing super-resolution imaging and reduction of the required number of acquisitions;

-   satellite techniques for environmental monitoring and Earth observation.
