- Mobile-assisted and computer-assisted foreign language learning (MALL and CALL).
- English as a lingua franca (EFL), English as an international language (EIL), English for specific purposes (ESP) and English for academic purposes (EAP).

- The use of technology for second language teaching and assessment.
- Innovative teaching methodologies and second language testing tools.
Main research interests:
• nature of language behaviour in various social situations ;
• relationship between language changes and social changes, between language varieties and social groups;
• types of linguistic behaviour in various communicative situations depending on age, gender, social roles, profession, etc .;
• communication pragmatics;
• sociolinguistic variables in didactics.
The group's work is focused on multiple, interdisciplinary approaches to investigation of iconotexts - predominantly picturebooks.
