In our research we fix on market efficiency and microstructure, asset price dynamics, volatility and prediction, mutual funds performance, risk metrics, term structure of interest rates, exchange rate dynamics, purchasing power parity, international capital mobility, and economic and regional growth. We assess the economic sentiment in Poland and provide medium-term forecasts of its economy. We also analyse management systems for business.
The department conducts scientific research in three main areas. The first one is devoted to corporate finance, and especially to the sources of financing, capital structure and its determinants, capital market and financial instruments.
The second research topic is corporate governance. Within this area scientific interests are focused on international corporate governance, problems concerning state-owned firms and on supervision in family businesses.
The Maritime Law Department conducts scientific and educational activities, as well as implements international and national projects and activities aimed also at popularizing science e.g. in cooperation with entrepreneurs from the maritime economy during the organization of scientific conferences on maritime law. Our scientific research generally focuses on determining the degree of legal compliance of domestic law with international maritime law, also in terms of enforcement of law in practice. These studies show a multifaceted and interdisciplinary character.

The Laboratory conducts research in three selected fields of literary studies (anthropology of literature, genology and comparative literature) and culture studies. The subject of scientific interest is the latest Russian literature and its relations with other Eastern Slavic literatures, as well as selected fields of contemporary culture (including cinema and popular culture).
Te Division of International Financial Markets is involved in scientific research in the areas of: finance, international finance, international financial markets, banking (including Islamic banking), currency risk management, trade finance.
