Short description of research profile

We have years of experience in working on preparation and characterization of PVC blends for various applications. In recent time research has been oriented to preparation and characterization of polymer blends and composites with biodegradable polymers in order to improve the properties and to expand the application fields. Particular attention has been paid to modification of polymers with by-products of processing of some Mediterranean crops, for example, modification of polylactide with grounded olive stones.

Short description of research profile

The main topic of research of our group is the chemical composition and biological potential of
Dalmatian aromatic and medicinal plants. The chemical composition of volatile extracts is
performing by using GC-MS-MS system, while the composition of nonvolatile extracts is performing
by using HPLC-DAD and LC-MS-MS. Among the biological potential of plant extracts and pure natural
compounds our research group is testing the antioxidant potential, the enzyme inhibition potential

Short description of research profile

The main topic  is to determine the importance of process parameters that define the overall phenomenology of heterogeneous process. The aim is to analyze the influence of process parameters on kinetics of heterogeneous processes in agitated batch reactor and to determine their impact on the process result. Kinetics should be particularly accentuated since it is of the essence in development of a reactor model and quantification of reactor parameters.

Short description of research profile

The aim of the scientific group is the development of multifunctional potentiometric sensors in solid state with membranes with the addition of nano particles. A secondary objective is to develop simple potentiometric sensors for the determination of chemical species of interest that would have improved properties. Improved sensor performance will be based on simpler preparation of samples for analysis (does not matter discoloration and turbidity of the sample), improved chemical, physical and electrical properties.

Short description of research profile

New teaching methods and strategies are designed and their impact on learning and teaching is evaluated. The influence of different didactic methods and application of technologies in teaching is investigated with the aim of better adoption of new concepts that are introduced during the teaching process. Research is conducted at all levels of education: from preschool to graduate level of education, in the natural environment of students in their classes (groups) in the presence of subject teachers without the influence of external factors.
