In the course of his researches Angelo Ciaramella is mainly concerned with Computational Intelligence and Machine Learning  techniques for Data Mining and Data Processing. In particular, he is concerned with Neural Network-based techniques for Principal Component Analysis, Independent Component Analysis, Autoencoder, Dictionary Learning and Compressive Sensing in signal processing, audio streaming, feature extraction and Blind Source Separation.

The main areas of research include: the development of new materials for energy applications; stabilization/solidification of hazardous industrial solid waste, soils and sediments; the preparation of concrete and geopolymer materials based on fly ash, blast furnace slag, foundry slag, slag from the incineration of municipal solid waste. Other research lines deals with the durability of the products obtained through the formation of calcium silicate and hydrated aluminum trisulphate, even in the presence of chlorides and sulphates

Research activity is conducted on the law of obligations and contracts, general part and single negotiation cases, and on the law of succession, with an in-depth study on the delicate topic of the protection of legitimaries and the relationship between trusts and the prohibition of agreements on inheritance.

Also of importance, then, is the focus on new legislation, with particular regard, in the patrimonial sector, to the issue of credit guarantees, between debtor and creditor protections.

The very first salient stages of technical/scientific educational training of M. Lega are summarized below: Master Degree in aerospace engineering, qualification to the profession of engineer, Ph.D in Aerospace Engineering, research grant/post-doc. The post-graduate research /training activity (Post-Doc fellows and research fellows) was spent in national and international context at prestigious universities and research institutions.

Reuse and valorization of industrial and natural wastes and tailings through innovative synthesis techniques with low environmental impact. Synthesis of hybrid organic-inorganic geopolymer materials. Synthesis and characterization of innovative binders and ceramics for applications in various areas, such as the protection and preservation of materials in cultural heritage. Advanced ceramics materials for high tech applications.
