In the CEPAC we develop research on Heritage, Landscape and Construction, namely on water resources, land use planning, urbanism, urban rehabilitation. history, environmental assessment and engineering for sustainability framed in the CEPAC's interdisciplinary.

The main activities of CINTAL involve the research and development of new technologies in the field of Electrical and Computers Engineering. The research Team is involved in projects that are related with Underwater Communications, Computer Vision, Smart Systems, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Smart Grids, among others.

CESUAlg enjoys scientific autonomy and develops its lines of research in the following areas:

1. Quality of Life in Health and Illness contexts (Coordinator: Prof. Luís Pedro Ribeiro);

2. Prevention, Diagnosis, Therapeutics and Rehabilitation (Coordinator: Prof. Rui Plácido Raposo);

3. Management and Assessment in Health Technologies (Coordinator: Prof. Margarida Espírito Santo);

4. Healthy Aging (Coordinator: Prof.  Nídia Rebelo Braz);

5. Biostatistics and Epidemiology (Coordinator: Prof.  Ezequiel Marques Pinto).

CEOT is a research center based in the University of Algarve that was established in 2003 as a result of a collaborative effort of several young scientists in the areas of electronics, optoelectronics and telecommunications. Today CEOT is composed of a multidisciplinary blend of researchers in the fields of informatics, computer science, electronics, physics and biology, following a research strategy towards an integrated approach to networks, electronics and sensing applications in biology.

Contributing knowledge towards a sustainable and resilient society” is the 4th research objective of CIMA and aims to: communicate scientific knowledge to diverse audiences; support authorities in planning, developing, and implementing coastal and maritime strategies; and participate in national and international organizations for the management of natural marine resources. 

Promoting research applied to the environment and the exploitation of resources, aiming to increase the well-being and sustainability of our society in the context of a changing world.
