Our research group focuses on diseases related to the aggregation of polypeptides and proteins. We study the aggregation process itself using fluorescence and electrophoretic methods, size-exclusion chromatography, and LC-MS coupled with enzymatic digestion. We are also deeply involved in the search for aggregation inhibitors as well as in studying the role that the 20S proteasome, stimulated by the activators we design, may play in removing toxic soluble oligomers.

For several decades, the Department of Civil Law has been conducting scientific research on the fundamental and topical problems of all branches of civil law, in particular obligations, in particular civil liability, property law, family law, medical law, intellectual property law, insurance and European private law. 

Adriana Zaleska-Medynska’s research team has been involved in both basic and applied research. Basic research has been mainly focused on preparation and characterization of novel types of nanomaterials, including better understanding of mechanism of formation of nanostructures, as well as, on correlation of their surface properties with some useful features (eg. photocatalytic, antibacterial and antifungal properties).

• radionuclides determination (Po, Pb, Gd, Ra, Cs, U, Th, Pu, Am) in food and diet supplements as well as in environmental samples;
• speciation, distribution and accumulation of radioisotopes in living organisms and their radiological effects;
• food as radioactive elements source;
• Chernobyl accident and other radiation events impact on the radioactive contamination

We aim to understand mechanisms of cell communication in the skin and other body barriers. We focus our attention on exosomes, a nanoscale vesicles secreted by epithelial cells and are interested in the message which these convey to the immune system. We hope that our research will lead to better therapeutic approaches for patients.

Structural studies of glycans and glycoconjugates isolated from various natural sources: gram negative bacteria, gram positive bacteria, fungi, plants and human tissues.

Main focus on biochemical characteristic of proteolytic enzymes using combinatorial chemistry methods. Design and synthesis of selective substrates of particular protease. Main interest: neutrophil proteases, diagnostic, molecular probes ect. Using our techniques we are able to characterized substrate specificity of any proteolytic enzyme. Also we are involoved in antimcrobial and immunostimulating peptides.

La créativité, l'écriture créative, les techniques théâtrales dans l'enseignement/apprentissage des langues étrangères: du français langue étrangère, anglais langue étrangère, espagnole langue étrangère. Nous visons dans le projet de prouver le bienfait de la créativité sur le développement des compétences sociales: l'ouverture ver l'autre, la compréhension de l'autre, le respect de l'autre, l'empathie et sur l'efficacité dans l'apprentissage des langues étrangères dont la finalité est l'autonomie.
