Short description of research profile

The main research interests are in the field of signal and image processing, with particular reference to Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and microwave remote sensing.

Her most significant scientific contributions are the following:

-    development of radar imaging techniques based on one bit coding of the received signal, that can be implemented for real-time processing on simple low cost architectures;

-    development of statistical techniques for moving target detection using SAR systems

Inclusive EdTech Research Group is dedicated to research and development of advanced learning environments for regular students and students with difficulties. Emphasizing individualized approaches for students with learning difficulties, the group explores how virtual learning environments can be customized to meet unique needs. We also investigate factors influencing technology acceptance and usability by students and teachers.

In the course of his researches Angelo Ciaramella is mainly concerned with Computational Intelligence and Machine Learning  techniques for Data Mining and Data Processing. In particular, he is concerned with Neural Network-based techniques for Principal Component Analysis, Independent Component Analysis, Autoencoder, Dictionary Learning and Compressive Sensing in signal processing, audio streaming, feature extraction and Blind Source Separation.
