1. Basic research of respiratory and cardiovascular systems and mechanisms of hypoxia- or hypercapnia-induced respiratory neuroplasticity (animal in vivo research).
The scopes of research include spectrophotometric and spectrofluorimetric methods for the determination of antioxidative potential of different substrates including in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo samples like human blood (plasma, serum), tissues (animal, human) and different herbals. Recent research by this group has been focused on skin models of damages (mechanical, UV, chemical) and on various treatment potential of different substances for skin.
Laboratory for cellular physiology was established at Department of Physiology in 2008 by Drs. Jasna Marinović and Marko Ljubković. Research focus of the laboratory have been intracellular processes involved in ischemic cardiac disease as well as various modes of cardiac protection. Also, myocardial metabolic variations are being investigated in different pathological conditions (such as diabetes) or as part of a so called cardiac metabolic therapy.
