Dorota Jendza, PhD in social sciences, University of Gdańsk. She is also a psychologist (MA) and works as a research and teaching academic at the Faculty of Management, University of Gdańsk.

Her research interests focus on organizational agency and empowerment, with particular attention to organizational boundaries, cultural contexts, and diverse forms of organizations, including public and business sectors. She examines psychological and managerial mechanisms that enable or constrain employees’ sense of agency in contemporary work environments.

In addition to her academic work, she collaborates as a tutor with the Centre for Teaching Excellence and Tutoring at the University of Gdańsk and the Centre for Teaching Support at the Medical University of Gdańsk. She has extensive experience in cooperation with business, having conducted workshops and training programs in various organizations and supporting leaders in team management.

Short description of research profile

Organizational Agency & Empowerment Research focuses on the psychological and managerial foundations of agency and empowerment in organizational contexts. The research examines how organizational boundaries, cultural conditions, and work environments shape individual and collective agency in diverse types of organizations, including public and business sectors.

The group explores mechanisms that enable or constrain employees’ sense of agency, paying particular attention to organizational structures, management practices, and cultural patterns influencing work experiences. The research aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of how organizations can support agency, empowerment, and responsible participation at work.
