Piotr Zientara holds a doctorate in economics and a degree of habilitated doctor. He is an associate professor of economics at the University of Gdansk. He also has a master’s degree in Human Resource Development (College of Europe, Bruges), a Diplôme Supérieur de Français des Affaires (Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry), a master’s degree in English (University of Gdańsk) and a Diplôme d’Etudes Universitaires Françaises (Jean Moulin III University, Lyon).
He lectures on corporate social responsibility (CSR), international economic relations, human capital, entrepreneurship, tourism and hospitality management and the Russian economy.
His research interests include: CSR, sustainable development, human resource management and family entrepreneurialism.
He has published in Journal of Business Ethics, Sustainability, Journal of Sustainable Tourism, Human Resource Development International, Industrial Relations: A Journal of Economy and Society. In 2014 Routledge (Taylor & Francis Group) published his monograph entitled “Human Resource Management in Emerging Economies”.
Professor Zientara also reviews articles for Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Sustainable Tourism, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Journal of Environmental Planning & Management, The International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Personnel Review, Journal of Management Studies.
Sustainable development and corporate social responsibility have a huge impact on the charcter nd perception of economic processes and managerial practices. Multidisciplinary research conducted by staff of our department advances our understanding of these issues, at the same time rendering our reality more responsive to the needs of all stakeholders and more environmentally friendly.
